City Administrator Julia Post and Mayor Moses presented a grant opportunity for a National Fitness Court funded by Blue Cross Blue Shield. The grant offers \$30,000 to \$50,000 per site, with a city match of \$150,000 to \$200,000 from sources such as the Economic Development Corporation or hotel motel tax. The council viewed an informational video and discussed design, costs, and programming.

Mayor Moses asked for council approval to proceed with the grant application, which was unanimously granted. Councilman DeLaGarza said the fitness court would be a good addition to the splash pad project, hoping it would offer something for kids by next summer.

Alonzo Morales was reappointed to the Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission. The council postponed nominating candidates for the commission’s 58th General Assembly Annual Awards until the June 10 meeting.

The council accepted a third opioid abatement fund payment of \$1,061.40 from the state. Mayor Moses said the funds must support anti-drug campaigns or related school programs. City staff were authorized to decide how best to use the money.
