FORT CAVAZOS, Texas — The U.S. Army has opened its first family-focused outdoor fitness park at Fort Cavazos.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Friday at 3 p.m. behind the Abrams Physical Fitness Center on 58th Street. The event was hosted by the Fort Cavazos Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation.
The new Abrams Outdoor Fitness Park was funded by Installation Management Command with a \$2 million budget. It is the Army’s first fitness park designed specifically for families.
The park features five different areas that encourage family-friendly exercise. These include a group fitness space, a multi-use court, and a playground where children can play while adults work out.
