Drs. Jeffrey Lord and Paul Karam have joined Community Medical Associates, a multi-specialty medical practice affiliated with Lawrence General and Holy Family Hospitals. They will provide patient care at Holy Family Hospital’s William Lane Building at 70 East Street in Methuen, serving the Merrimack Valley and southern New Hampshire regions.
Dr. William Goodman, vice president of medical affairs and ambulatory practices, praised the new appointments. Their arrival strengthens our specialty surgical services and highlights our growth as a center for advanced care. Dr. Jeffrey Lord is a board-certified general surgeon with fellowship training in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. A decorated U.S. Navy veteran, he has held leadership roles in both military and hospital settings. Most recently, he served as director of bariatrics and minimally invasive surgery at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola in Florida. He also leads the Bariatric Consulting Group and has worked with North Florida Surgeons. Dr. Lord is recognized for his expertise in laparoscopic surgery and has published extensively on bariatrics, surgical education, and outcomes. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Paul Karam is also a board-certified surgeon specializing in bariatric and general surgery. He has nearly a decade of post-graduate training and is a certified fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Karam is currently pursuing fellowship certification in foregut surgery. He received his medical degree from Holy Spirit University of Kaslik in Lebanon, completed his bariatrics and foregut fellowship at Saint Luke’s University Health Network, and completed his residency at the Cleveland Clinic.
