The University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Department of Campus Recreation and Wellness aims to promote lifelong healthy habits among students and the community. It does this by offering quality facilities, programs, and services that focus on improving overall well-being.
The department operates from the Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC), a large 82,000-square-foot indoor facility. In addition to the RWC, staff manage two outdoor complexes. The Delta Outdoor Sports Complex includes a multi-sport field with lighting, a cricket pitch, two basketball courts, and four tennis courts. The Rec Sports Complex also features a lit multi-sport field and a sand volleyball court. Nearby, the RWC Field serves as a multi-purpose outdoor space used for intramural sports and rented out to groups such as lacrosse and soccer teams.
Campus Recreation and Wellness offers a variety of programs and special events to engage students and the campus community. These include group fitness classes, intramural leagues and tournaments, personal and small group training, nutritional counseling, and social activities.
The department is led by five full-time professionals and supported by a part-time team of about 50 student workers. This makes Campus Recreation and Wellness the largest employer of students on campus.
