Alison Hammond, the beloved This Morning star, is set to charm viewers in her new show, Alison’s Big Weekend. The 50-year-old presenter will spend a full weekend with a celebrity, exploring their life and the places that shaped them.
The BBC teased the show with excitement, promising laughs, surprises, and heartfelt moments as Alison shares sleepovers with famous guests. The first episode will feature Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards, who will open up about her struggles with anxiety and fame.
Alison, no stranger to sharing her own story, has been open about her dramatic weight loss journey. Once weighing 28 stone, she struggled with her health and even had an unsuccessful gastric band operation. Motivated by a warning from her late mother, who had type 2 diabetes, Alison took control of her health after learning she was pre-diabetic.
She credits cutting out fatty foods and sweets as key to her success. Through diet changes, personal training twice a week, and home workouts like walking and weight training, Alison lost an impressive 11 stone and reversed her pre-diabetes.
Alison also shared an embarrassing moment from when she was at her heaviest. On a flight, she had to buy an extra seat because of her size and was even moved to first class after upsetting another passenger. She now says those days are behind her thanks to her weight loss.
Her journey inspires many, showing how determination and lifestyle changes can lead to better health and confidence.
