Andrew Flynn, born on April 12, 1992, stands 6ft 2in tall and weighs between 138 and 142 kg (around 22 stone). He lives in Peacehaven but hails from nearby Lancing.
At 33, Andrew only entered the national strongman scene in 2021, placing seventh in UK’s Strongest Man. He quickly rose through the ranks, finishing fourth in 2023 and securing back-to-back third-place finishes in 2024 and 2025. These results earned him a spot on the world stage.
At Britain’s Strongest Man 2025, Andrew impressed by winning the medley event, coming second in the log lift, and finishing fourth in the Atlas Stones challenge. He has also gained recognition in Europe’s Strongest Man and the Giants Live Strongman Classic.
Despite the intense demands of his sport, Andrew is a devoted family man. He often credits his wife and children for their support, which he says has been key to his success.
Andrew keeps his training simple, working out four times a week in his back garden. Each session lasts more than three hours and often follows a full day at work.
To fuel his grueling routines, Andrew eats between 5,200 and 8,000 calories daily. His diet includes large portions of meat, vegetables, and complex carbohydrates, providing the protein, carbs, and fats needed to power through training.
Early in his career, Andrew faced a major bicep injury but came back stronger. Known as “Flying Flynn” in the strongman world, he is recognized for his speed, toughness, and resilience.
“My nickname in strongman is Flying Flynn,” Andrew said. “Before strongman, I played rugby, so I was lighter and more mobile. I’ve still got that speed, so I’m good at moving events. I don’t really feel pain when I’m doing those.”
