With the 2024-25 season behind them, FC Barcelona is already focused on strengthening the team for the 2025-26 campaign. The club is actively exploring the transfer market to address weak spots in their squad, from defense to attack, as they aim to reclaim their dominance.
Alongside reinforcing the roster, Barcelona is concentrating on the current players, ensuring their fitness is optimal for the upcoming season. A key part of this strategy involves tailored fitness programs for players recovering from injuries.
Barcelona Sporting Director Deco recently confirmed that the club is prioritizing the recovery of two key players who have faced injury struggles in recent seasons: Dani Olmo and Ronald Araujo. Olmo, an attacking midfielder, battled several injuries during the 2024-25 season, which hindered his ability to contribute regularly. Similarly, Araujo, the center-back, missed much of the first half of the season due to a muscular injury sustained during the 2024 Copa América with Uruguay.
To ensure their full recovery, Barcelona has developed customized fitness plans for both players, aiming to have them in peak condition for the start of the 2025-26 season.
This approach follows the success of a similar program used for Pedri, who benefited from a personalized training plan before the 2024-25 season. Fitness coach Julio Tous, working with the medical team, carefully assessed Pedri’s muscle fibers, allowing for a specialized routine designed to prevent injuries and boost his performance. The same method is now being applied to Olmo and Araujo, with specific workouts, rest periods, and nutritional advice outlined for each player.
Barcelona hopes these targeted plans will help Olmo and Araujo avoid setbacks and contribute to the team’s success next season.
