Alison Hammond, 50, has shared insights into her health journey after losing weight and adopting a more active lifestyle. Weighing 28 stone at her heaviest, the This Morning presenter chose to embrace healthier habits rather than following the celebrity trend of using weight loss injections.
Hammond explained that she starts her day early, no matter how late she’s gone to bed the night before. She kickstarts her routine with an immunity-boosting ginger shot, followed by a traditional Full English breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, and sausages, which she enjoys with her son, Aiden.
When at home, the Great British Bake Off host prepares homemade lasagne and spends the afternoon relaxing with activities like watching her favorite reality TV shows, doing DIY projects, or cleaning. To stay fit, she also engages in sports and other physical activities.
For dinner, Hammond enjoys dishes like curried goat and rice or chicken fried rice when staying in.
The mother-of-one has previously shared how her pre-diabetic diagnosis prompted her to make significant changes. After losing her mother to lung and liver cancer in 2020, she was motivated to prioritize her health. She explained to Good Housekeeping UK, “My mum had type 2 diabetes, and she was worried about me. When I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic, it was frightening. I knew I had to make a change, so I cut out sweets and fatty foods.”
While many celebrities have turned to weight loss injections, Hammond has opted out of this trend. She told Good Housekeeping UK, “For those who need them, weight loss injections are helpful, but I get scared when I hear about the risks. I haven’t used them, but I wouldn’t rule them out in the future.”
In terms of food, Hammond believes in the importance of moderation rather than completely cutting anything out. “I don’t deny myself anything. I eat everything, but in moderation,” she explained.
