Mark Wahlberg has kicked off a new fitness journey, announcing the start of “operation: get ripped” in his latest 4 a.m. workout video.
Fresh off wrapping a film project, Wahlberg shared his excitement on Instagram about returning to peak physical condition. He said he’s eager to shed the weight he gained during filming and get back into “fighting shape.”
“I felt terrible—lots of inflammation, coughing stuff up every day, eating breads, pastas, yogurts, and everything I shouldn’t be eating,” Wahlberg said. “But now we’re done, and it’s operation: get ripped.”
His new program includes a strict fasting schedule—eating only during a six-hour window each day—along with sauna sessions and cold plunges.
“The diet is going to be the key,” he said while performing ab wheel rollouts. “Just the fasting alone already got me down 14 pounds.”
Wahlberg also shared two workout videos, highlighting exercises that target the core, back, biceps, and calves. His core routine features decline sit-ups with oblique twists, the ab coaster machine, crunches, ab wheel rollouts, and hanging leg raises.
For his back and biceps, Wahlberg uses cable rows, seated rows, TRX rows, lat pulldowns, cable curls, and straight-arm pulldowns. He also includes three types of calf raises in his routine.
In a separate video, Wahlberg showed a healthy post-workout meal of half a roasted chicken with sliced sweet potatoes. “The weight loss journey starts today,” he said, presenting the meal to the camera.
