Samsung is reportedly looking to monetize its fitness features on its Galaxy Watches through premium subscription models, according to a recent report.
In an interview with CNET, Samsung’s Senior Vice President and Head of Digital Health, Hon Pak, revealed that the company is considering offering “advanced coaching features” through paid subscriptions for Galaxy Watch users. This move is part of Samsung’s new focus on promoting health, even amid the demands of daily life.
Pak emphasized that many health issues, including certain cancers, are preventable, and that Samsung’s goal is to help users maintain healthier habits. He explained, “Our mission is to meet people where they are and help support those healthy behaviors in a meaningful way.”
The company is working on new features for the Galaxy Watch that will better personalize health data like nutrition and stress management, aiming to provide more relevant information to users.
Details on pricing or subscription tiers are still unclear, but if Samsung proceeds with this plan, more information could be announced later this summer.
