Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather is threatening legal action against Mayweather Fitness over unpaid employee wages and misuse of his name. According to a TMZ report from May 20, Mayweather’s team demands all business documents and communications related to the gym.
In a letter from his lawyers, they accuse Mayweather Fitness of fraud, misuse of his likeness, breach of contract, and defamation. The letter states Mayweather has not managed or operated the gym but claims the brand has exploited his image for financial gain. This has caused lawsuits and negative press that damage his reputation and business deals.
Mayweather Fitness must provide the requested documents by May 25 or face a potential lawsuit.
This legal issue adds to Mayweather’s troubles. In March, he filed a \$100 million lawsuit against Business Insider after they reported that his announced \$62 million Manhattan real estate purchase never happened.
Now, Mayweather may be facing two lawsuits simultaneously, both threatening his reputation and business interests.
