Christina Aguilera appeared confident and radiant at a recent public appearance following a significant weight loss transformation. The 44-year-old singer turned heads in a fitted white dress at the Airbnb 2025 Summer Release event on Tuesday, where she attended with her long-time fiancé, Matthew Rutler.
Her elegant outfit featured a high neckline, short sleeves, a pleated skirt, and ruching along the front, which emphasized her noticeably slimmer waist.
Aguilera has faced public scrutiny about her body for years. After giving birth to her son Max in 2008—she also has a daughter, Summer—she experienced body shaming due to post-pregnancy weight gain. Though she lost weight for her 2010 film Burlesque, her figure fluctuated again following her divorce from Jordan Bratman that same year.
In a 2020 interview with L’Officiel Italia, Aguilera said she no longer believes in dieting. “I’m not going on a diet, get over it,” she stated.
She has since spoken out about society’s obsession with her weight. In an interview with Glamour last year, she reflected on how public perception of her body changed as she got older. “When you’re a teenager, you have a very different body than in your 20s,” she said. “Then I started to fill out, and that was unacceptable. Industry people would say they preferred how I looked when I was a skinny teenager.”
Aguilera said she has learned to ignore outside opinions. “It must be your responsibility to take up your space,” she said. “Other people’s opinions of me are not my business.”
Despite the ups and downs, Aguilera has always maintained a strong sense of self-worth. Speaking to Marie Claire, she said, “Being too thin. Being bigger. I’ve been criticized for both. But I’m confident in my skin. It takes time to get there, but it’s about embracing who you are.”
