Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Al-Sabah during his visit to Kuwait on December 22, 2024. They discussed ways to make Yoga more appealing to the younger generation. He praised her dedication to wellness and noted the popularity of her studio in Kuwait.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “Met HH Shaikha AJ Al-Sabah in Kuwait. She has distinguished herself for her passion towards Yoga and fitness. She has established her own Yoga and wellness studio, which is quite popular in Kuwait. We talked about ways to make Yoga more popular among the youth.”

Al-Sabah began her yoga journey in 2001 and launched Daratma in 2014. The studio, named by combining “Dar” (Arabic for home) and “Atma” (Sanskrit for soul), offers yoga education for those seeking balance and inner peace. Her advocacy led to the Ministry of Trade and Commerce in Kuwait introducing a license for Yoga education, now accessible to all.

In 2021, she launched “Yomnak lil Yaman,” a fundraising initiative to support Yemeni refugees and internally displaced people. Her efforts continue to build cross-cultural understanding through wellness and humanitarian outreach.
