Actor Suniel Shetty is stepping into the role of a grandfather with full dedication following the birth of his daughter Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul’s baby girl, Evaarah. Embracing this new chapter, Suniel says becoming a grandfather has brought fresh purpose to his life — and even changed his daily routine and fitness goals.
In a recent interview with Lallantop, the 62-year-old actor spoke candidly about how his priorities have shifted. “I’m obsessed with the baby,” he admitted. “I keep checking my phone or rushing home. She’ll be moving into the same building soon, and I’m really looking forward to that.”
To make time for his granddaughter, Suniel now finishes his workouts by 6:30 a.m., before others in the house are awake. He’s also changed his training routine to focus more on functional fitness. “I’m working on bending and lifting,” he said. “With babies, you’re always picking them up. People think I’m joking, but I’ve adapted my training just for that. I want to stay strong and be able to play with the kids for as long as I can.”
On the work front, Suniel was last seen in Kesari Veer, which received mixed reviews. He will next appear in Welcome to the Jungle, a star-studded comedy set for release in December.
