New Delhi, June 5 – As India prepares to mark the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) on June 21, the Ministry of Ayush announced that more than 30,000 organisations across the country have registered for Yoga Sangam 2025, the main national event for the celebration.
The registrations include a wide range of groups — from schools and Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to corporations, non-governmental organisations, and government institutions.
In a statement, the ministry said the enthusiastic response reflects how yoga has evolved beyond a daily exercise. “It has become a nationwide movement for mindful living, community strength, and national well-being,” it noted.
Over one lakh locations across India are expected to host yoga sessions on June 21 — from the icy peaks of Ladakh to the sun-drenched beaches of Kerala. Events will take place in diverse venues including school fields, office lawns, railway stations, and historic temple complexes.
To coordinate and monitor activities, the Ayush Ministry is using its official yoga portal. Organisations can register their events online and later upload details to receive an official Certificate of Appreciation.
Institutions such as IITs, IIMs, and Central Universities are playing an active role in the celebration. According to the ministry, these academic centres are not only organising mass yoga demonstrations but are also helping to promote yoga’s role in improving mental focus, emotional balance, and leadership skills.
“Let us come together to reaffirm our shared commitment to a healthier and more prosperous India. Together, we can make Yoga Sangam 2025 a landmark in our journey towards holistic national wellness,” the Ministry urged.
