Valéria Pantoja, a popular Brazilian beauty influencer, passed away over the May bank holiday weekend, her family confirmed on her Instagram page.
A statement shared via her Instagram Stories expressed the family’s grief, stating: “It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Valéria Pantoja. She was a beloved person and leaves memories that will comfort our hearts. May God give strength and comfort to family and friends at this difficult time.”
The family also expressed their gratitude to her 12,600 Instagram followers for their “support and affection” during this difficult time. Pantoja’s sister-in-law clarified that while the cause of death remains unclear, the influencer had recently undergone bariatric weight loss surgery.
In a statement, the sister-in-law confirmed that Pantoja passed away in the hospital after suddenly falling ill. She urged the public to stop speculating about the circumstances surrounding her death, saying, “She didn’t kill herself! She didn’t fall down the stairs! We still don’t know the cause, only after the autopsy. She was recovering from bariatric surgery, was very weak, became ill in the early hours, and passed away in the hospital. Please stop spreading lies!”
Followers of the late influencer expressed their condolences on Instagram, with many posting crying face emojis or simply writing “RIP.” Some also shared their thoughts on Pantoja’s recent weight loss surgery, questioning whether it was necessary.
Pantoja, who held a degree in Aesthetics and Cosmetics and a postgraduate degree in Intradermal Procedures and High Technology applied to Aesthetics, had been working in the beauty industry for seven years. She provided services like Botox and lip fillers and was also trained as a psychologist.
