The Cumbria Yoga Foundation is set to offer a series of outdoor yoga sessions in the Lake District this summer, aiming to make yoga more inclusive and accessible for all.
The charity will hold its “Yoga in the Park” sessions in several locations, including Kendal, Cockermouth, Ulverston, Carlisle, and Askham. The one-hour classes, which are open to participants of all experience levels, are designed to promote the physical, emotional, and social benefits of yoga in a supportive outdoor setting.
Tickets for the sessions are priced at £8 for full price and £4 for concession tickets, with discounted rates available for students, individuals on low incomes, single-adult households, and seniors over 65. Each full-price ticket includes a “pay it forward” contribution, funding free places for those facing financial or health-related barriers.
Caroline Robinson, founder of the Cumbria Yoga Foundation, shared that the foundation’s goal is to create a welcoming space where people from all walks of life can come together and benefit from yoga. “Bringing people together in these beautiful outdoor settings supports not only individual wellbeing but also a sense of community and connection,” she said.
The sessions, led by experienced yoga teachers, cater to participants of all levels, with practices tailored to meet individual needs. This initiative also aims to raise awareness of the foundation’s work across Cumbria while generating funds for its community programs.
The “Yoga in the Park” sessions will begin in May and run throughout the summer. To book tickets or for more information, visit Trybooking at trybooking.com/uk/eventlist/yogainthepark or the Cumbria Yoga Foundation website at cumbriayogafoundation.org/yogainthepark.
